Hello Guys,

It has been a minute since my last LETTER TO YOU.

I've been occupied with posting and sharing scholarships link here and there.

Quite a lot of people still lack the necessary information needed for scholarship and its application.

I wish I could help you all, but I can only help by sharing with you the necessary information.

So, let’s get back to today’s letter.

 How to DIY and submit your graduate school application in the United Kingdom.

In case you do not know, the aim of my blog is not only to share scholarship links but also to encourage students/people to “DIY”. To provide to you the information you may be locking around for or information you found it hard to get about studying abroad.

Some of you may be wondering what "DIY" is.

DIY” means “DO IT YOURSELF” In layman terms, it means doing things yourself without looking for a third party or someone else to assist you with it.

Doing things yourself makes you strong and versatile. It also helps to develop your interest and increases your knowledge.

Today, I would be sharing with you the A- Z process and procedure on how you can apply to graduate schools in the UK from the beginning to the end.

So, sit back and enjoy.

Before you begin your application;

  • You must have identified and recognized the Master course you would like to go for.

  • You must have all the requirements and documents ready. In case you do not know what is needed, check my LETTER TO YOU on the requirement to study abroad.

If you have all these available, then you can begin your application.

Let us review the things to note about the UK;

  1. The UK comprises four (4) different Countries – England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland
  2. UK Master programme application is mostly ongoing.
  3. Public school is preferable for you.
  4. Check and read about the school before you apply.
  5. Ensure the school offers your chosen course of study.
  6. You do not need to pay an application fee. Although few schools requested this depending on the course you’re going for.
  7. If you do not have enough money, do not dream of going to LONDON. Even if you do and you intend to go over to work and pay your tuition fee, LONDON is not your best shot.
  8. There are more Jobs in Scotland than in England. The pay in Scotland is much more than in England.
  9. There are more international students in England than in any of the other countries.
  10. The UK visa processing is easy.
  11. You can go with your family if you have one.
  12. One of the parents can make an application, while the family goes with him or her.
  13. As a student, you can only work for 20hrs per week. However, during the holiday, you can work as long as you want.
  14. If you go with your spouse, your spouse could work unlimited. i.e., as long as he/she wants to work.
  15. For a single person, you need at least N10,000,000m as POF. For a couple (wife and husband), you need at least N15,000,000m as POF. For Family (wife, husband, and 2 children), you need at least N28,000,000m as POF. Kindly note that this Proof of Fund (POF) is for studies outside LONDON.

Now, let us go back to the article.

Having read the requirement and identify your chosen course, the next is to make a selection of the schools you would like to apply to.

I’d advise you to apply to more than two schools, in case one rejects your application, you will have more to go. Do not forget that there’s no application fee, so why won’t you apply to as many schools as you can.

Let us dive into the process and steps to apply to any UK schools of your choice.

1. Select the schools – Say I chose, Robert Gordon University or University of Aberdeen (Scotland) Cardiff or Swansea University (Wales), Ulster University or Queen's University Belfast (Northern Island), University of Lincoln or University of Chester (England). You do not need to choose like this, it is just a sample.

2. Go to the study menu and select the postgraduate or graduate course or;

3. Input your chosen course in the search box on the homepage.

4. Click on the course, read the overview, entry requirement, tuition fee, and the course period.

5. Click on apply. The apply button is most times at the top. For some schools, it is at the bottom or side.

6. Once you click apply, it will redirect you to the page where you will register. You can do the rest from there.

You, see? Easy-peasy! Innit?

So, tell me, why do you need an agent or anyone to help you?

Where I may think a lot of people need help would be in writing the motivational Letter/State of Purpose/Letter of intent or whatever you know it to be.

However, there are a couple of articles and samples on how to write a good SOP on Google and YouTube.

And if you still think you cannot use those resources, I may be able to help you to write one. This does not come FREELY!

Meanwhile, if you cannot follow the above process, either you are busy or you are just lazy, you can send me a Direct Message on Twitter @Sammyadso or send an email @thexplicit1@gmail.com or chat me up on WhatsApp on 0901 0728 107 (chat only, don't call). I will assist in the application, but my service is not free!

Till I write you again, take care for now.

Best of luck.
